2013 World Famous Shasta Shootout Competition A lovely, fascinating, and riveting family tradition that occurs every summer at the Israelsen reunion. Shootout participants are typically in training year-round in hopes of finally achieving their lifelong goal of being crowned Shasta Shootout World Champion. This world renowned competition involves the following: eat two large raw hot dogs, consume an entire warm 2 liter bottle of Shasta, and run 150 yards. Large cash prizes and unique trophies are awarded to those who cross the finish line first in each age category. Awards are also given out to other outstanding performances such as the "Most Dramatic".
