On May 27, 2016 at approximately 2:04 a.m. LVMPD patrol officers were dispatched to an apartment complex located in the 3800 block of Cambridge Street to investigate a report of a robbery.
The investigation initiated by the LVMPD South Central Area Command Investigations Section indicated the victim, a taxi cab driver, picked up two males from a gas station in the 2900 block of East Tropicana Boulevard. When they arrived at the apartment complex, both subjects exited the cab without paying. The driver confronted them at which time the taller male produced a black small-frame handgun and pistol-whipped him. The driver then fought with both males who eventually robbed him of his wallet. They were last seen running westbound from the area.
One suspect is described as a black male adult in his 20s, standing approximately 6’4” tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black long sleeved shirt, black pants and a blue and yellow baseball cap. The second suspect is described as a black male adult in his 20s, standing approximately 5’4” tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue Nike t-shirt, blue jeans and a blue bandanna.
