This afternoon, LVMPD Sheriff Joe Lombardo was presented with a $10,000 donation earmarked for the purchase of additional body cameras for our police officers.
It costs well over $1-million annually to outfit the majority of the force with cameras, and this donation will go a long way to speed up the deployment of this new technology. We salute Mr. Tommy White and the Laborers International Union of North America #872 for their generous donation. First to speak at the presentation ceremony was NV State Senator Aaron Ford, who was a key figure in authoring body camera legislation. Mr. White challenged other citizens and organizations to make similar donations as well. Thank you!!
