R.I.P. BORIS
After a long and productive partnership with LVMPD Officer DuWayne Layton, K9 "Boris" has passed away. He finished a search at 5am yesterday (August 1st, 2016) and then, quite unexpectedly, several hours later he was gone. Boris was nearly 11 years old, and getting ready for retirement. In fact, he was scheduled to live on a 2.5 acre estate in Washington. He loved every moment of his job as a crime-fighter. Most of all though, he loved special events like visiting Marc Kahre Elementary School. He was a loyal partner and served his community and police department right to the last minute.
