Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance identifying three suspects and a female person of interest in connection with a murder and robbery that occurred at a Lee’s Discount Liquor. On April 18, 2016 at approximately 9:44 p.m. LVMPD patrol officers were dispatched to a Lee’s Discount Liquor located at 8785 West Warm Springs Road to investigate reports of a robbery and a shooting. Arriving patrol officers located a male employee inside of the business suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the UMC Trauma Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
The investigation initiated by the LVMPD Homicide Section and the Central Robbery Section indicates three unidentified black male adults entered the business and began to rob two employees near the front of the store at gunpoint. Another employee was forced to an office in the rear of the business where the safe was located. The employee was ordered to open the safe but could not access it. The employee was shot as the suspect left the office. After the shooting, all three suspects fled the business on foot.
The first suspect is described as a black male adult in his 20’s, approximately 6’0 tall and weighing 180 lbs. He was wearing a white zip-up hoodie over a gray hoodie with the gray hood pulled over his head, gray sweatpants and dark high top athletic shoes with a white design and was armed with a handgun.
The second suspect is described as a black male adult in his 20’s, approximately 6’0 tall and weighing 180 lbs. He was wearing a black hoodie with red “UNLV” letters, jeans and red shoes.
The third suspect is described as a black male adult in his 20’s, approximately 5’8 - 6’0 tall and weighing 240-260 lbs. He was wearing a greenish colored hoodie and was armed with a handgun.
Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest who was in the business just prior to the robbery. This person was described as a black female adult, approximately 5’6 tall and weighing approximately160 lbs. She was wearing an aqua colored tank top and black pants.
This is the 51st homicide investigated by the LVMPD in 2016. The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
